Welcome to the Greenfield Central High School Instrumental Music Boosters website
.
The Jr. High and high school guard teams compete in the "Brownsburg Invitational" Saturday, January 28th.
Click here for the day's itinerary. The high school
itinerary is listed first.
Good Luck to both teams!
The next G-C Band Booster Meeting will be on Thursday, February 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. in the G-CHS cafeteria.
We will be electing three of next year’s officers (president and two treasurers). This will ensure, that if new officers are elected, they have
adequate time to learn their positions prior taking over June 1st. The remaining four officers (two vice presidents and two secretaries) will be
elected at the April booster meeting.
Here is a overview of the February election:
President: Rob Carpenter is NOT running for reelection.
Treasurer #1: Currently, James Glover is running for reelection.
Treasurer #2: Currently, Rene Guy is running for reelection.
If you are interested in actively supporting this program and leading this organization, consider running for one of the seven officer spots
either in February or in April. If you have questions about an office, feel free to read the duties, in the by-laws, on our website or contact
Mr. Angel, Mrs. Hicks or Rob Carpenter.
IF James and Rene are reelected, we would like to realign some of the treasurer duties to allow us to have one set of QuickBooks, instead of
two. Two sets of books requires double entry which is quite time consuming. Also, we are defining some additional duties. During the meeting,
we will discuss and vote on this proposed amendment:
1st Treasurer – duties shall be to receive all revenues of this organization and make necessary disbursements; to keep accurate records of
all expenditures of this organization and to deduct all expenditures from the proper approved accounts; to keep and maintain all records
of the bank accounts established for the organization; to administer all student accounts, to maintain adequate records of all student
accounts, to see that these records are properly filed within the organization, and to report a summary of these records at the monthly
meetings of this organization; and to print a report of the financial records for each monthly meeting from the accounting software program.
Transfer all records to the succeeding 1st Treasurer. To assist the 2nd Treasurer as needed, and to assume the duties of the 2nd
Treasurer in his/her absence.
2nd Treasurer – duties shall be to ensure money boxes are delivered to events, then picked up and their contents properly accounted for
and deposited after; to verify all revenues of this organization and make deposits as needed; to monitor the collection and disbursement
of funds in the student accounts, and to pursue the collection of any outstanding funds owed by students for fundraising activities or
for the instrumental music program's related expenses or for the student fees; to assist and verify the student account and disbursement
entries into the accounting software program, as needed; and to assume the duties of the 1st Treasurer in his/her absence.
IF James or Rene are not reelected, we will table the amendment until a future date.
Contact Rob Carpenter with questions, comments or concerns.
Tell your friends, family, co-workers and church members that the Cougar
Pride and Chicago's Pizza, on St Rt 9, have teamed up for a month-long fundraiser during February. Any time you dine-in, pick-up
or carryout, simply give the Chicago's employee a flyer when you pay and Chicago's will make a donation to the band boosters.
Click here to print the flyer. We put two flyers per
page, so you can use both or use one and share one. Feel free to attach the flyer to en email and send it to everyone
in your email contact list. Don't know how to attach the file to an email? Ask Rob for help.
Unfortunately, Interest Charges Have Started
The school handbook allows us to charge interest on accounts over
60 days past due. As of January 1st 2012 the Booster organization began charging 21% interest on only
the portion of the balance which is over 90 days past due and will accrue monthly. A letter was be sent out
explaining the change by the booster president. Families who have already set up an “Agreement to Pay” will
not be subject to the interest on the current balances, but new agreements will be charged interest. Also
any future “Agreement to Pay” plans will be in writing and any interested collected will go to the general fund.
Band Pictures
Recently, Ken Myers took pictures
of the band for the winter sports program. He has given us permission to
share these pictures with our band members. Thanks Ken for all your pictures
through the years.

Are you new to the boosters or
been around for awhile and not sure how to get involved, get information or get questions
answered? Here are a few helpful hints:
1. Ensure you are signed up for "The Crescendo". Contact Erin,
if you are not receiving "The Crescendo".
2. Check this website because Rob posts information as he receives it. If you have information, about an upcoming event, and it's not
posted here, email the information to Rob.
3. Attend monthly booster meetings. The meetings are at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month except April and during the Summer.
4. Go to the officers' page, pick an officer and email her/him your questions. Your question may be forwarded
to the officer or committee chair that can best handle your inquiry, but we will try to get you answers.
5. Volunteer! Help with props, concessions, souvie booth, chaperone and more. Being around other parents will get you information and
the band members like having parents around.
6. Come watch the last 30 minutes of Tuesday night practices and sit with other parents. Tuesday night practices will be in the stadium soon.
Remember: The booster officers put in numerous hours as volunteers, have full-time jobs, families and other
commitments
while paying the same fees as everyone else. Please be patient when submitting a question or comments as we are trying our best.
2011-12 Fundraising Schedules
Click here for the 2011-12 fundraising schedule as of January 24th.
Is your student's account overdue? Please send in your balance to the address on your statement. Do you need more time or to setup an alternative payment plan? Contact Rene' Guy or Rob Carpenter to let them know your situation and how you plan to catch-up. If necessary, we can provide an "Agreement to Pay" form for an alternative pay plan. All emails and conversations are kept confidential and it will avoid further action by the boosters to collect the overdue amount.
Ways to reduce your fees:
Remember to participate in the fundraisers that benefit your student's account.
Create and send out student sponsorship letters. Sample letters are on the "Student Sponsorship" page.
Buy SCRIP cards (gift cards) and use them everyday. Places like Walgreen's, Wal-Mart, Shell, Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, Arby's and Marriott hotels to name a few. Plan ahead, order your cards and help pay some of your fees. Go to our "Fund Raising" page to see how to order.
Volunteers needed
The Greenfield Central Band Boosters will need numerous
volunteers during the remaing school year. For new band parents that is
June 1st through May 31st. Simply click on the "Committee Chairs" page, read
through the committees, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link
for the season that you would like to help.
Background checks for all volunteers are required, unless you are a Greenfield-Central
School Corporation employee. Click here for the background check form and submit it to
Mrs. Hicks, in the music office, as soon as possible.
If you are not sure which link to use, email
Rob
Carpenter and include your name, phone number, what committee you would
like to volunteer on and he will handle it.
Note: If you signed up for a committee at freshman orientation, you don't need to sign up again. If you don't remember what you signed up for, sign up again.
Wal-Mart kindly donated four shopping carts for us to use to collect
paper for recycling at the school. We also have numerous sites around
town to drop off newspaper, junk mail, etc. Click
here to see
locations and what is recyclable.
Our high school and Wal-Mart recycle bins have qualified for a new rewards program called the Gold
Standard Recycle Program. We will now receive $1.50 per ton collected in those bins, gift card options
on the cash out program, quarterly prizes, special promotion options plus more!
Thank you for everyone's participation!
